SUCHARITA SHARMA, an honours Graduate and Bachelor of Education from the University of Kolkata has been interested in Indian Classical Dance from an early age. She has obtained a Masters Degree from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata with specialisation in Manipuri Dance. At the same time Sucharita has also earned proficiency in Bharatnatyam.

Bharatnatyam :

In Bharatnatyam Sucharita is a Senior student of Shrimati Anita Mullick renowned Bharatnatyam dancer, choreographer and has participated in various programmes under her direction including "Viswa Vina Rabe" a ballet based on Tagore's seasonal songs which has received the Uday Shankar Award of Government' of West Bengal 1996 and "Nahi Samanya Nari" a dance drama based on Tagore's Chitrangada at Uday Shankar Centenary Festival 2000. She accompanied Smt. Anita Mullick as assistant Teacher in Bharatnatyam workshops at Vishnupur 96 and Coochbehar 98 conducted by Paschim Banga Rajya Sangeet Academy.

Performances Abroad :

Programme arranged by Cultural Association of Bengal (CAB) at New York 2003, Rabindra Mela New Jersey 2003, Lipilekha Association at New York 2003 & Workshop arranged by Nandanik Dance Academy at Pittsburgh in 2003 and 2004.
